Paris Restaurant Agape SubstanceFor a wonderful culinary adventure on your weekend break in Paris, why not consider sampling the gourmet experience at Agapé Substance?  Since opening at the end of 2011, this tiny white minimalist restaurant has quickly got Parisians talking.  Laurent Lapaire and Chef Gaëtan Gentil have created a restaurant all based around a counter, open kitchen and communal tables which diners share while perched on little stools, it may sound different but wait until you taste the food it is amazing.

On arrival the Chef will greet you and ask if you have food allergies or restrictions, after which just sit down and relax as the menu simply announces some of the seasonal ingredients that might be featured, it can really include anything and everything; sea bream, scallops, sea urchin, asparagus, swiss chard, pigeon – be prepared for a gastronomic surprise!

Paris Agape SubstanceYou are then presented with a stream of many small surprise dishes. You can quickly lose count but there are in the region of twenty delicious dishes to choose from with the vegetables as the stars of the show. You have the choice of just taking the food or having the Wine pairing so the dishes are accompanied with a fine selection of wine.

On arrival you will be offered a small glass of Champagne but given the price, you may be wise to decline. You’ll find that the waiting staff are enthusiastic hosts and if you are fortunate the Chef will come and explain some of the dishes. A really amazing experience in Saint-Germain, something you will only ever do occasionally.
